Thank Gd, we've been at our new home for 11 days now! According to my 81-day countdown, that's ONLY 70 more days to go (I'm not trying to flaunt my math skills). For the most part, time has really flown by. We are patient and will continue to be, but Josh and I are very much looking forward to meeting and falling even more in love with our healthy, happy girls.
Yesterday, you all heard from my husband. That man has many talents, and writing is certainly one of them. I'm glad I can give you all something to look forward to every 10 days. Knowing him, he's already drafting his next masterpiece. As for me, I write these an hour before I post. That's why we are the perfect pair.
Yesterday.
Josh and I were up by 6:30 am. Our room has these two gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows—although they don't quite reach the floor and definitely don't touch the ceiling, they do the trick by letting the sun shine through. It's a wonderful way for us to wake up and get that much-needed energy for our growing flower garden. Josh read his morning articles, did yoga, and watched the Masters. After the girls are born, I will have to write a thank-you note to the folks over at Augusta National for keeping my husband occupied. I made bracelets from about 7:30 am until 1:30 pm when Susan and Dale came by to hang out. Josh is my bracelet mule and delivered our positive messages to more nurses, doctors, and cleaning ladies on floor 2.
For dinner, Josh and I were preparing a plate of our many delicious leftovers when we heard a knock on the door. Enter Nurse Terry. A few days back, we gave Nurse Terry a bracelet, that says "Give Hope." She is typically on the Labor and Delivery side but was filling in over here at Antepartum. Terry asked for our permission to bring over a little girl she was babysitting for a resting mama. We obviously said yes because during the 10 days here, no one has asked us that question. Moments later, she wheeled in the most precious baby girl. This not-even 2-hour princess was wide-eyed and alert. She was swaddled in her pink blanket, already wearing a giant bow on her head. Our hearts melted, and our eyes immediately started to water. Terry said, "I just wanted to give you two hope just like you gave me." She did. Our girls already have their first friend.
Today.
Morning pancake party in our room (minus the pancakes)! This morning, our OB Dr. Julian Peskin, Dr. Ehrenberg, and our Queen (Zoya) came to our room to check in on our family—the four of us, Josh and his girls. Both doctors are really happy with my stability and continue to compliment our mental and physical strength. Dr. Peskin said he wants me to stay here (and the girl to stay in there) at least 10 more weeks. Ten weeks from today is literally 70 more days. Dr. Peskin doesn't follow the blog and little does he know that that is our exact goal, 70 + 11 = 81. If that's not a sign from above, I don't know what is.
Mom and Dad came by to babysit their middle baby so that Josh could attend leg day at the gym. We talked, prayed, Mom helped me shower, and Dad walked to a nearby grocery store to find us all 90% dark chocolate. Mission accomplished.
Dr. Ehrenberg mentioned that we should take advantage of the sun and go outside. So when Josh came back, he wheeled in a throne, got a "get out of jail free" pass from Zoya, and wheeled me into the great outdoors. Of course, as we were leaving, Josh yelled, "PRISON BREAK" to get a chuckle out of Zoya and the other nurses. Good thing we are not near the baby nursery or there would have been unhappy, sleepless parents after us.
It's been 11 days since I've been outside. Right as the sun hit my skin, I started to cry. I felt so happy to be where we were. We've both come a long way to be safely sitting outside, not attached to IVs or nurses measuring our every move. It was just the two of us. Once again, I fell in love with my husband outside of Hillcrest Hospital in front of a beautiful parking lot. I continue to thank Gd for our miracles and will thank Him every day for giving me Josh, my forever favorite nurse.
We wheeled back inside even though I was tempted to have Josh take us to Hobby Lobby across the street. They have beads waiting to be made into bracelets.
Tonight, our plan is pizza with the parents, finishing episode 1 of Gentlemen (no spoilers), and continuing to have a drama-free evening.

Day 11
You are very good at descriptions ...such as describing the sun you felt when you went outside ...and the fresh air! The air and nature is always so healing. Our Rabbi recommends a walk when one is feeling down,
Great Post! Love you!
